Scholarship Program

ALPHA BANK offers
(conditions) to
a Romanian student a full scholarship for one of
the following programs:
-
MSc in Information
Networking (MSIN)
of the INI of Carnegie Mellon University*,
which AIT offers exclusively in Europe
-
MSc in Information & Telecommunications
Technologies (MSITT)
-
MSc in Management of Business, Innovation
& Technology (MBIT).
*ranked consistently in
the top 3 US engineering schools over the past five
years
The
scholarship covers the tuition fee of the
program and insurance cost.

Conditions:
The
student:
-
must be a national of and desire to return to
and work in a Balkan country (such as, Albania,
Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro and
FYROM), or Cyprus, in which the Alpha Bank Group
maintains an active physical presence.
-
should be employed during and following the
completion of his studies, by and according to
the professional needs of the Alpha Bank Group,
based on beneficial status” for the minimum of
12 months.

ALPHA BANK at a
glance
ALPHA BANK was
founded in 1879 by John F. Costopoulos, when he
established a commercial firm in the city of
Kalamata.
In 1918 the banking department of the "J.F.
Costopoulos" firm was renamed to "Bank of Kalamata".
In 1924 the Bank's headquarters were moved to
Athens, and it was renamed to "Banque de Credit
Commercial Hellenique".
In 1947 the title was changed to "Commercial Credit
Bank", in 1972 to "Credit Bank" and finally in March
1994 to "Alpha Credit Bank".
The Bank grew considerably in the last decades.
Beyond providing banking services and products, it
has developed into a major Group offering a wide
range of financial services.
In 1999 the bank acquired 51% of the shares of the
Ionian Bank.
On April 11, 2000 the merger of the Ionian Bank was
approved through absorption by Alpha Credit Bank.
The name of the enlarged, new Bank, resulting from
this merger is Alpha Bank.
Alpha Bank is the second largest bank in Greece. The
