Prof. Ioannis Tomkos will give a presentation at the international Optical Fiber Communications conference (OFC 2007) on the topic of "Impairment Constraint Routing in Mesh Optical Networks". S. Sygletos, A. Tzanakaki and G. Markidis are co-authors of the paper that will appear in the conference proceedings. OFC is the largest and most prestigious event focusing on optical communications that takes place every year in USA with more than 20.000 participants.

Prof. Tassos Dimitriou has been the organizer of the 1st Annual workshop on PRACtical aspects of SEcurity (PRACSE workshop) that took place in June 16-17th at AIT. The aim of PRACSE is to provide a forum for continued activity in the area, to allow the interaction between security researchers and professionals and to give attendees the opportunity to network with experts in the field.
This year?s keynote speaker was Philip R.
Zimmermann, the creator of Pretty Good Privacy PGP Inc. PGP was selected by Information Week as one of the Top 10 Most Important Products of 1994. In
1995 Newsweek named Zimmermann one of the "Net 50", the 50 most influential people on the Internet.
