Activities of the Group:
- The Group collaborates with leading industrial players in IT and Telecommunications , as well as important reasearch labs in the research areas falling in the scope of the group acitvities. Prominent examples include: IBM, Sum Microsystems, INTRACOM, CMU, USC, Stanford University, Fraunhofer, INRIA, University of Karlruhe, and more
- The Group collaborates actively with leading Greek universities and research insitutes, as well as with Greek Reserach and Technology Network
- The Group created and maintains a toy Grid infrastructure consisting of 3 Solaris9 machines with Globus Toolkit
- The group follows Several IETF mailing lists, as well as the globus toolkit mailing lists
- Prof. Polymenakos is the coordinator of the E-Business Forum Study Group Z6: 'Grids for E- business', while Dr. John Soldatos is a rapporteur in the same group
- Dr. Soldatos is reviewer for the IEEE Communications Magazine, the Computer Communications Magazine as well as several international conferences
- Dr. Soldatos was a co-chair of the DPSN 2004 workshop, held in the scope of the IFIP-TP6 Networking 2004 conference
- The autonomic and grid computing research group is responsible for a series of executive training courses and seminars related to enterprise middleware, enterprise applications and multiservice networking (See the AIT central site for more details and schedules).
