Autonomic and Grid Computing
Overview

The Autonomic and Grid Computing Group of the AIT aspires to achieve pervasive, human- centered, high-performance computing through a combination of user, network and systems technologies.

The group envisions autonomic computing as an area targeting the full range of IT and networking infrastructures. Therefore, it endeavors to produce multidisciplinary research results from several areas towards the vision of non obtrusive computing services, anywhere and anytime.

The Autonomic and Grid Computing group will pursue excellence for its research results, high profile collaborations, attraction of funding, successful execution of contracted obligations and contribution to the AIT overall strategy for teaching and research.

The group has a very broad range of activities, spanning:

  • Teaching of courses in the scope of the MSIN, MSITT and MBIT programs
  • Research Projects (co)funded by the European Commission (FP6 program)
  • Bilateral research collaborations and joint project with worldwide leading enterprises and research centers (e.g., IBM, Sun Microsystems).
  • National Projects funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.
  • Conduction of Professional Course and Seminars
  • Supervision of numerous student theses
  • Participation in several committees, fora, consortia within and outside Greece
