Algorithms and Security
Scientific contributions

Prof. Tassos Dimitriou

  1. Have organized various Professional courses on Cryptography and Data Security

  2. Have been the organizer of the annual workshop on PRACtical aspects of SEcurity (PRACSE workshop). The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for continued activity in the area, to allow the interaction between security researchers and professionals and to give attendees the opportunity to network with experts in the field. This year’s keynote speaker is Philip R. Zimmermann, the creator of Pretty Good Privacy PGP Inc. PGP was selected by Information Week as one of the Top 10 Most Important Products of 1994. In 1995 Newsweek named Zimmermann one of the "Net 50", the 50 most influential people on the Internet.

Selected Collaborations
Have initiated collaboration with Intracom Defense Electronics where among other things we study the development of secure algorithms and applications.
We are also working together with INTRALOT, a leading company in integrated lottery systems solutions.
There is an ongoing collaboration with the Research Academic Computer Technology Institute of Patras where we have been involved in research regarding sensor networks (national funded project) and foundational aspects of global computing systems (IST European project FLAGS).

There is ongoing collaboration with CREATE-NET International Research Center the outcome of which was a submission of an IST European project related to Robotics and Sensor networks.

We also maintain close ties with other high profile companies, universities and research institutes, a sample of which includes: DATAMAT S.p.A, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) Corporate Research Centre, Hellenic Aerospace Industry S.A., Selex Sistemi Integrati S.p.A., SAAB, Chalmers University, University of Athens, University of Piraeus, Carnegie Mellon University, etc..
