Organization
The Library operates according to international library standards. Concerning classification, the Dewey Decimal Classification System of the 21st edition is used ( D.D.C. 21).
The subject indexing follows the Congress Library standards (Library of Congress, Subject Headings).
The cataloguing is based on the Anglo-American Rules of Cataloguing of the second edition.
Enrichment
The library houses an open collection to the public, which is continually enriched with printed material, especially in the subject fields it covers.
The Library accepts donations of material from individuals and other sources.
Books
The collection includes several volumes specialized in all subject areas of computer science, telecommunications, electronics and exact sciences as well. The core of the collection is mainly foreign.
The series << Ancient Greek Literature >> with the collected works of Greek ancient authors and the << History of the Greek Nation>> constitute the special part of the collection.
Reference Material
The reference material includes:
Periodicals Dictionaries Encyclopedias Biographies Bibliographies Newspapers
It cannot be loaned and it is only for internal use within the Library.
Periodicals
AIT Library has more than 100 foreign journal titles.
Grey Bibliography
In the category of grey bibliography is included all the material that is not published, that is to say diplomas, postgraduate and doctoral dissertations/ theses and technical reports.
In the Library the grey bibliography includes the postgraduate dissertations of the students.
