The Technical Library operates on the ground floor of the Athens Information Technology (AIT) premises in Peania, covering 250 square meters.
The Library operates as a circulating one for all the members of AIT society (faculty, staff and students) and of the Intracom Group of companies.
Researchers and external users requiring occasional access have the right to consult the collection, to photocopy it, if they wish to, but external loaning is not allowed.
The subjects of the collection are derived mainly from the fields of computer science, telecommunications and electronics.
The Library is fully automatized and uses the << ADVANCE 6.715 >> program. It offers integrated services to its users such as information and loaning. In the Library there are four computers connected to
the Internet and AIT's Intranet, a printer and a photocopier at the users' disposal.
The Library has a quiet, distraction-free, separate study room covering 150 square meters.
The Library's mission, as a focal point for research, study and individual inquiry, is the support and promotion of the educational and research work of AIT and the offer of services to the members of Intracom Group of companies and the broader public.
Regulation
Academic year 2006-2007
1. The library is accessible to all members of AIT society (faculty, staff and students) and of the Intracom Group of companies. The Library staff are at their disposal for any information or assistance if necessary.
2. The Library operates daily from Monday to Wednesday: 11.00-19.00,
and on
Thursday to Friday: 09.00-17.00.
3. In the library absolute silence is required where smoking, mobile phones, drinks and food are also forbidden.
4. The students have to put their bags and personal things in their lockers before entering the room.
5. Underlining, writing or drawing on the material or the furniture are strictly prohibited.
6. The use of laptops in the Library is allowed.
7. The users are advised not to put back to the shelves the material they have used, instead all material is left to the table of the reading room or at the place which is indicated by the Library's staff.
