AIT is undergoing a major faculty expansion and is seeking nominations and applications from  outstanding individuals with innovative research programs and a strong interest in teaching. AIT is currently offering the MSIN graduate program in collaboration with the INI of Carnegie Mellon University. It also offers two other graduate programs, the MSITT and MBIT. We are interested in applicants both at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level as well as at senior tenured levels. The applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Applicants in all areas are encouraged to apply and will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates in the areas of Embedded and Autonomous systems, Networking, Telecom Systems, Software Engineering and RF Electronics.
Candidates are expected to develop a strong research agenda and maintain excellence in teaching. They should send a curriculum vitae, copies of representative publications, names, addresses and phone numbers of three or more references to the AIT's Dean. Electronic submissions and inquiries may be made at itom@ait.edu.gr. Applications will be processed as they are received and continue to be considered until all positions are filled.

Faculty members are professors, who join AIT as resident tenured or tenure-track ones, as well as a number of instructors and lecturers, who in general hold a Ph.D. degree and are involved in the educational and research activities of AIT.

All AIT professors hold a Ph.D. degree and have a solid research and teaching background. Senior Professors, after joining AIT, take the adjunct Professor status of Carnegie Mellon. Younger Professors are asked to spend a time period at Carnegie Mellon in order to acquire the adjunct Professor status.

AIT is actively recruiting Professors in all the disciplines it covers. The selection is based on high academic standards, in compliance with the relevant Carnegie Mellon procedures and is subject  to Carnegie Mellon approval. The selection of the faculty members follows strict academic practices and complies with the code of ethics generally set by Carnegie Mellon and other world-class Universities.

The faculty has full academic freedom in teaching and research. The general professorship appointment at AIT requires the teaching of 2 –3 semester courses per year. Faculty members conduct advanced research and lead scientific teams working for that purpose. They also undertake some academic administrative work.

To accommodate teaching needs of the MSIN program AIT is inviting distinguished professors to teach specific courses. They are on a non-resident status and they usually spend a semester or more at AIT, teaching a course as well as performing research.
