Software Systems Research Area

Overview

The objective of the Software Systems Research Area is the study of properties of software systems at all levels of abstraction, from the operating systems to middleware and to web services, and the use of established methodologies for the systematic development of software systems in carefully identified application areas, including applications for mobile devices, middleware services, development environments, data processing applications, machine learning applications, etc. Work in this area aims at building a solid research base on the areas of software and web engineering so as to elicit from innovation new applications and services, and, by exploiting synergies, prove the concept in carefully selected application areas. Faculty members and researchers specializing on the areas above, participate in a number of European Research projects, as well as a number of privately funded research and development projects.

Relevant academic courses currently offered by AIT at a Master’s level, include operating systems, object orientation, database systems, software engineering and software systems modeling, etc.

"One of the biggest advantages of AIT is its Career Office. People there try really hard to help all the students by contacting companies and informing us about job opportunities. The Career Days which take place at AIT each year are very well organized and the best Greek and international companies are there, interviewing AIT’s students."
