Networks and Optical Communications

Overview

The Networks and Optical Communications (NOC) group of AIT is actively involved in novel research, educational and consulting activities in the broader field of optical communications covering aspects related with optical transport solutions and network design in optical access, metro and core segments. Its mission is to perform research on technologies, algorithms, protocols, architectures and transport schemes for evolving high-speed optical communication systems and networks and also to spread this knowledge in the industrial and educational community.

The Networks and Optical communications (NOC) group has been established in late 2002 and  operates within “Athens Information Technology (AIT) – Center of Excellence for Research and Graduate Education”, which was created by the non-profit organization “Research and Education Society  Laboratry in Information Technology (RELIT)”.
