Autonomic & Grid Computing Group (AGC)

Overview

AIT’s research activity on Autonomic and Grid Computing aims at pervasive, human-centered, high-performance computing through a combination of user, network and systems technologies. Autonomic computing is viewed as an area targeting the full range of IT and networking infrastructures. Therefore, we pursue multidisciplinary research towards the vision of non-obtrusive computing services, anywhere and anytime.

The AGC research activity pursues excellence for its research results, high profile collaborations, successful execution of contracted obligations and contribution to the AIT overall strategy for teaching and research.

The AGC very broad range of research activities spans:

  • Research Projects (co)funded by the European Commission.
  • Bilateral research collaborations and joint project with worldwide leading enterprises and research centers (e.g., IBM, Sun Microsystems).
  • National Projects funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.
  • Conduct of Professional Course and Seminars
  • Participation in several committees, forums, consortia, national or international.
