Message from the Dean Emeritus
Education and lifelong learning are the dominant factors in our ability to compete in the global economy
Intellectual capital drives economic prosperity. Machines were the chief capital asset in the Industrial Age. Workers, mostly low - skilled, were plentiful and exchangeable. In the Information Age, precisely the opposite is true. The key competitive asset now is human capital and it cannot be separated from the knowledge workers who possess it.
The primary mission of Athens Information Technology (AIT) is to become a Center of Excellence for Research and Graduate Education in Information and Communication Technologies and to enrich human capital.
We are collaborating very closely with the Information Networking Institute, INI, of Carnegie Mellon University and jointly we are offering an intensive 16 month Master of Science program of studies to talented University graduates and working engineers. AIT also offers two more graduate programs: a Master of Science in Information and Telecommunications Technologies (MSITT), and a Master of Science in Management of Business, Innovation & Technology (MBIT); a PhD program with Aalborg University in Denmark; Executive Training by AIT and with the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; and annual Summer School programs.
We are looking far out on the horizon to see what kind of graduate education should be offered in order to keep Europe, Greece, and Southeastern Europe, at the forefront of the competitive knowledge driven global economy.

Message from the Managing Director
Networking and interpersonal communication is always a positive, mutually beneficial experience that will lead to a better future. Let our investment today, bear fruit tomorrow.
By joining our family, AIT becomes a common meeting ground, an agora. Where people sharing common aspirations will gather. Where new and brilliant ideas will be exchanged and debated. Where new opportunities will be created. Where new inventions are cultivated.
AIT has a vibrant and growing international community, with a student body from more than 20 countries. We are very privileged to share the unique opportunity of assisting them in their realization of their goals while also benefiting from their culture and experiences. Bringing students from around the world to AIT, we give them the opportunity to learn, live and study together, under the same sky where some of the oldest and most precious values of humanity were conceptualized by the greatest philosophers.
We are also proud of our remarkable diaspora, who support AIT and its vision. Outstanding academic, technological and scientific achievements around the world bear the signature of people of Greek descent.
AIT operates with the commitment and conviction of an international academic center of excellence. Your friendship with AIT will broaden international interest and knowledge on the future of technology and science, and our students and faculty will witness and share your achievements and success.
Athanasios Zesimopoulos
