“Transceiver Techniques for Interference Alignment in Next Generation Communication Networks”
Summary
This thesis will investigate and propose the development of novel interference alignment techniques for transmission and reception in next generation wireless communication networks. Interference Alignment is one of the most promising techniques for increasing the spectral efficiency of cellular communication networks. Its practical application in terms of efficient transceiver techniques and applicability to new network topologies (such as small cells & hierarchical networks) remains however largely unexplored to date. The goal of this thesis is to propose IA-type transceiver techniques that 1) apply to promising next generation wireless communication setups; 2) have a robust operation in the presence of wireless network and channel impairments; and 3) deliver maximum performance gains by fully exploring all the available resources and dimensions (time, bandwidth, space).
