| Applicant profile |
The MS WiNMe is an advanced graduate program focusing on the telecommunications (wired/wireless) and information/media processing technologies shaping an internet connected world. It has four areas of specialization: Information & Web Technologies, Broadband Networks, New Media and Security & Trust. It addresses students from Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technologies background who wish to gain a better understanding of the new technologies driving the ICT market today and the research challenges that will shape technology tomorrow. Both deep theoretical understanding and extensive hands-on experience on the technologies and tools will be offered in AIT’s state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. To Enter the program candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in:
- Electrical / Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Informatics / Information Technologies
- Telecommunications

| Admission Requirements |
The selection process is based on an overall analysis of various factors and ranking is based on evaluating the relative performance of the applicants, their skill profile and their expressed motivation and commitment to excel. The formal admissions requirements are:
a) Application form: The application form is available online. It must be completed in English.
b) Degree certificate and transcripts: Applicants are expected to submit an official or certified degree certificate (in English or in Greek) from the university attended, along with the official or certified transcript of grades. The type of degree, the date of graduation, and dates of enrollment, must be clearly stated in these documents. Student overall GPA and course grades in the areas of programming, networks, probability theory, area of specialization courses and diploma thesis (if applicable) will be considered. Applicants who have a grade higher than B (equivalently higher than 2.8 in a scale of 4 or higher than 7 in a scale of 10) in programming, networks and area of specialization courses are well positioned to enter the program. High ranking applicants may be offered early admittance.
c) A detailed CV and Statement of Purpose must accompany your application. The Statement of Purpose should be concise, focused, well-written, and should describe succinctly your reasons for applying to AIT, research interest, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests which may aid the Admissions Committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation for graduate study.
d) Three (3) recommendation letters in English (signed and sealed): These letters must be from people who know you well enough professionally and/or academically to provide a detailed evaluation of your professional and academic performance and provide a detailed evaluation of your qualifications for the MS WiNMe program. e) English language requirements: to be considered for admission, scores must be submitted from one of the following: Proficiency in English (Cambridge or Michigan), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Exceptions may be made for applicants who hold a degree from a 4-year study at a university located in a country in which English is the official language and also the language of instruction at the university. The minimum scores for admission consideration are:
IELTS (Academic): A score of 6,5 and above
TOEFL: Institution code: 7038. 90 and above on Internet –based test

f) Interview: After an initial review of your application, selected candidates may be invited for an admissions interview by the Admissions Committee of AIT.

| Application Procedure |
To be considered for acceptance for the 2012-2013 academic year, applicants should submit all the above documents by September 07, 2012. For non-EU students,who will need a visa/permit, of residence the deadline is July 06, 2012. For Jordanian Applicants the deadline is July 18, 2012. Early registration is strongly advised.
Admissions Results: Candidates will receive a formal letter from the Admissions Office as soon as the selection process is complete. Please note that only fully completed applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee. High ranking candidates may be offered early admission, before other candidates are evaluated.
There are three possible outcomes.
- Successful: You are being offered a place and will receive an official acceptance letter from the Admissions Office
- Waiting list: If your application meets the minimum criteria for acceptance but the program is full, the Admissions Office may inform you that your name has been included on the admissions waiting list.
- Unsuccessful: if your application is unsuccessful you will receive an official letter from the Admissions Office informing you of the decision.
Note: if all the required documentation is not received by the Applications deadline, the applicant's file will not be evaluated.

The program begins in mid-September of each academic year.
- Fall Semester: mid-September to mid-December
- Spring Semester: mid-January to mid-May
- Summer Semester: mid-May to mid-July
Full-time duration is 16 months. Part-time duration is 32 months.
