Athens Information Technology collaborates with Carnegie Mellon’s Information Networking Institute (INI), an integral department of Carnegie Mellon’s College of Engineering, and offers the Master of Science in Information Networking (MSIN) program, awarding a Carnegie Mellon degree.
The Information Networking Institute is a collaboration of the CMU School of Computer Science, the CMU Tepper School of Business, and the CMU Heinz School of Public Policy and Management.

Program Overview
The MSIN is an intensive, 16-month (full-time), graduate program that gives students a solid foundation in information technology, telecommunications and networking while introducing them to management, strategic thinking, and policy, with the opportunity to study each of these areas in greater depth through electives. All classes and coursework are in English. This selective program targets Electrical Engineering and Computer Science majors and accepts up to 30 students each year. The program is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the degree is conferred by Carnegie Mellon.



A curriculum option allows students to choose a Professional Track or Research Track to develop an area of specialization. MSIN students get the necessary skills required to pursue leadership, technical, and management positions in a variety of sectors and industries.

Graduates of the MSIN program can pursue a Ph.D. and academic track or directly enter a range of careers, including software engineer, networking engineer, technology consultant, IT analyst, computer systems consultant, systems & software engineer, development manager, IT security officer, project manager, financial software developer, entry level strategic management positions, security consultant.

The unique feature of the MSIN program is that students are taught both by CMU and AIT professors, thus getting the best of both worlds and allowing them to pursue Thesis Projects and Independent Studies at both sides of the Atlantic. Enabled by student and career services, the AIT community shares a common commitment and determination to excel in the fields of IT, Networks, Innovation and Management. Furthermore, students are given the opportunity to explore and visit sites, rich with Greek history and experience life in a fast-paced, European capital like Athens.

The AIT campus is located at Peania, just a few kilometers outside the center of Athens, ensuring a safe environment. Students can take advantage of a modern infrastructure, with the latest technology, including wireless networking, interactive amphitheatres, distance learning and fully equipped laboratories. Students have also access to the AIT campus library, the online Carnegie Mellon books and publications, as well as to the AIT dormitory, restaurant and entertainment facilities.
