Objectives
In the modern era of the knowledge society, connected
economy and globalization, the capacity to innovate is a
key competitive advantage for companies and nations, but
the management of innovation is risky.
Designed to tackle today’s critical challenges in
managing innovation in a technology
driven, globally
competitive business environment, the Management of
Business, Innovation and
Technology (MBIT) program at
Athens Information Technology (AIT) integrates the best formal education, ongoing
research and industrial practice
to provide
executives/ managers and their companies with innovation
management capabilities that sustain superior business
performance and meet customer needs.
Program Overview
The MBIT program addresses an increasingly demanding
requirement by the Information and Communications
Technologies (ICT) industry for technical expertise
combined with business skills. With an overall objective
of developing the insight and skills critical for
effective management of business, innovation and
technology, it focuses on three critical competencies
that successful managers need to possess. These are
strategic management, innovation management, and techno-economic
value analysis of new products or services.
This Master level program offered by the AIT integrates ideas from
economics, techno-economic value analysis, innovation
management, business development, global marketing of
services and products, and strategic management. The
resulting program places equal emphasis on how to
analyze business situations and how to implement
suitable action plans.
The program’s goal is to provide students with an
overview of the status and dynamics of the ICT industry
integrated with a solid grounding in strategic
management of the innovation process. After completing
this program the students will be able to: identify key
technological trends and disruptive technologies in the ICT industry; evaluate the value potential and develop a
complete business plan for a new service or product;
manage its production during the early phase of its
life-cycle until it crosses the chasm to mass market
acceptance; and, plan for the next generation product in
the context of the overall company product portfolio.
