MSIN - Curriculum

The MSIN Program is jointly offered by AIT and Carnegie Mellon onsite at AIT. The master’s Degree is granted by Carnegie Mellon.

The MSIN course load consists of 10 courses, each of which accounts for 12 units. Six courses are core courses and the remaining four are electives. The program concludes with the successful completion and defense of a Graduate Project.

Notes:

In the course catalog, “C” signifies a core course shown in gray in the above table. Numbers in parentheses provide the code of the corresponding course in Carnegie Mellon’s curriculum. 

Students are required to take the 6 core courses and they can choose 4 electives out from the complete course catalogue. Those electives could be chosen in such a way as to lead in a specific specialization.
Examples:
A student who chooses to specialize in Embedded Systems and Electronics could choose AIT-6, AIT-8, AIT-9, AIT-10, AIT-13 and AIT-17.
A student who chooses to specialize in Telecommunications/Networking could choose AIT-6, AIT-7, AIT-11, AIT-12, AIT-13 and AIT-14.
A student who chooses to specialize in Software Engineering could choose AIT-12, AIT-17, AIT-19, AIT-20, AIT-21, and AIT-22.
