STUDENT VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR GREECE
(for accepted students only)

Type-D Student Visa
To issue a Type-D Student VISA is a time-consuming process. Each country may have different requirements regarding the student visa process – in accordance also with your country’s laws. It is strongly advised that all accepted students contact the Greek Consulate of their country, as soon as they receive the following documents from AIT Admissions Office:

  • Student Declaration

  • Parental Declaration

  • Official Letter of Acceptance
     

NOTE: These documents must be returned to AIT signed, immediately upon receipt.

Apart from these documents, the Greek Consulate will request the following from the student – but be sure to confirm this with the Greek Consulate in your country:

  • Valid Passport

  • An official certificate, issued by your country’s Authorities, indicating that the student has no criminal record. (Please, bring another copy with you, as we will need it for the Greek Immigration Department).

  • VISA Application, which you will find at the Greek Consulate.

Residence Permit
Once you are in Greece, AIT staff will assist you in obtaining your Residence Permit. The Permit is issued by the Greek Immigration Authorities, after you enter in Greece. You must make sure, that upon your arrival in Greece, you have your Passport stamped with the entry date.
To apply for a Residence Permit, make sure you bring with you:

  • 4 passport-size photos (they should all be the same and recent)

  • Birth Certificate (official or certified copy)

  • Criminal Record (official or certified copy)

  • Valid Passport

  • Type-D Student VISA

  • 150 Euro

  • Greek Bank Booklet - AIT will assist you to open a bank account
